Peter Scales "Memory and Unitarianism"

Most of us bring our memories of earlier faith traditions, and memories of celebrations both Unitarian and otherwise. How do those memories inform us in our daily lives and in the portion of our lives which we might call “UU time”?

Karen Christie, of the Membership Committee, is delighted to announce that our Capital UU Congregation has four new members. They are Jurgen Harding, Stefa Katamay, Diana Clift, and Catherine Cardinal. Please consider acknowledging their decisions in this regard. As a congregation, we will all have an opportunity to welcome them formally to Capital at a New Members Ceremony, which will take place during our regular service on December 9. Our own lay chaplain, Amanda Tarling, will do the honours of introducing the new members, through reading a short biography for each person. We will all then participate by reading scripts for our parts. This will bring our number of members to XX. In addition, Capital is fortunate enough to count XX friends of our congregation, for a total of XX active participants.

If you too are considering membership and would like to also participate in this new member ceremony, please be in touch before Dec 1st. Anyone who is interested in becoming a member of Capital, please talk to either Karen or any Board member for information. New Member Ceremonies are held whenever we have new members to celebrate.
