Statement of Principles

Task Force Report

The last response from the 26 congregations has been received.

In general the feeling is that the principles need to remain the same. However, perhaps they do not offer with clarity our distinctive identity to a person looking at us for the first time.

There will be a rewrite to be distributed by June 21. Meanwhile comment and responses are needed by this March 21 to provide time for tabling and collective discussion at the 2005 ACM in Hamilton in May.

CUC BOARD HI LIGHTS
Abridged and received from Christine Johnston

At the Board’s annual retreat and meeting the technique of Appreciative Inquiry (AI) was used. (as used in Nanaimo) to find a common vision.

Resulting actions were a Symposium Committee to have congregational leaders to jointly explore ways to be U*U’s in today’s world.

Four other task forces: Sharing Our Principles, Endowment Campaign, Social Responsibility Task Force and a Sharing Ministry Task Force.
