Children’s Community Service Projects

The children become involved in projects to help others. Every year, they collect money for Heifer International.  This donation buys gifts of livestock and training which help communities in need to improve their nutrition and generate income in sustainable ways.

Every December, the children have an opportunity to “Christmas shop”at Sunday School. The congregants bring gently used items which the children select, buy and wrap for their family members.  The funds collected are donated to the Daily News Christmas Cheer Fund.

Other community events will be organized throughout the year such as packing hampers at Christmas Amalgamated, helping at a community soup kitchen or at the Kamloops Food Bank. In the past, children have participated in an Adopt-A-Road program and with Backpacks for Russia - collecting and sending school supplies and toys to Russian children.
